This Christmas was such a fun time for our family with the girls being 2 yr and 4 yrs old they were into everything Christmas. Here are a few of my favortie things we did this year...
- Advent Calendar: Instead of putting candy in each of the little doors I printed out different "Christmas Activites" that we would do each day. Things like: make Christmas cards for grandparent, bake cookies for neighbors and babysitters, go look at Christmas lights etc.
- Unwrapping books: Thank you to pinterest for this idea. I wrapped up 24 Christmas books and each night we unwrapped one before bed.
- Watched the Nativity Story as a family: This is a new tradition for our family. Both girls watched it and Bella was so into it. She talked about it for days and even began to role play as Mary and would dress up like her...it melted my heart.
- Winterville Christmas parade:....I forgot how much candy they throw at you during parades! We used it to build our ginger bread house :)
Christmas Eve Tim's parents came up and I made a Greek style dinner, a tradition from my childhood. My dad's side of the family is Greek and on Christmas Eve we always had a Greek dinner. I was stoked and scared to get to do my own this year...I will say it turned out very good!
After dinner we went to Christmas Eve service at church then home to bed. I felt like such a grown up this year at Christmas for two reasons 1) we had "grandparents" spend the night with up at our house and 2) we loaded up Christmas day to see my family....that is stuff grown ups do! HA
The girls were thrilled Papa D could play King in their castle!
