Happy 6 months Little Man...

Today Colton is 6 months old! For me this is a milestone, not to get too sappy or nostalgic but, there were moments that followed his birth that I really questioned if we would make it this far. I Thank God every day for His right timing and hand in selecting Colton's doctors. So, many times over the past few months Tim and I have thought about the different scenario's that could have played out and we are overwhelmingly amazed at how good God was through those first 14 days of Colton's life.

Colton is 6 months old
You weigh: 11 lbs (more on that in a second)
You wear a size 2 diaper Mommy has tried cloth diapers on you but your legs are so skinny you leak right through the leg holes!
You are currently in 3-6 months or 6 months clothes. Rompers fit you best because you are so lean.
You are still packing in the solids. You are now eating avocado, banana, butternut squash and applesauce.

You are my most laid back baby and for that I am grateful! You don't even cry when you get vaccines, you just grunt in a very manly fashion! Your sisters adore you and you always light up when they come around.

We have been to a series of doctor appointments over the last couple of weeks because you are not getting past the 11 lbs mark. Over the last couples weeks you have had blood work drawn, your thyroid tested, stool tested, and an X-Ray done. All tests came back normal and your X-Ray looked perfect. I kept telling the doctors that I just have small babies but no one was listening.

This week we saw a GI specialist and she said you looked perfect! You are taking in enough calories and nutrition and your development was "spot on". Children who have "HD" can have other syndromes or disabilities. The doctors are trying to rule out all of those possibilities. For now we are not worrying about your weight, we will go back in a month and if you are still sitting at 11lbs then they will do some genetic testing! At this last visit I took in your sisters records and at 6 months the Bear was 11 lbs 6 oz and the Bug was 12 lbs. If you look at their growth charts you are right on track to be a Dameron baby!

I am so thankful for you my boy...you melt my heart!

Here is a link to another mom's journey with HD...I am reminded again at how God has and continues to work on our behalf!
